Since the reveal of the teams participating in the WWE Mixed Match Challenge, many people started asking what the purpose of the tournament served. Would the tournament winners receive Title opportunities or would they get a trophy like the winner of the Andre “The Giant” Memorial Battle Royal?
WWE has put those questions to rest as they have unveiled 12 charitable organizations that will be paired up with the WWE Superstars competing in WWE Mixed Match Challenge, a single-elimination mixed tag team tournament. The winning team will receive $100,000 to support their charity of choice. In addition to the grand prize, each team's charitable organization will automatically receive $10,000.
“Giving back is in WWE's DNA and part of our long history, so we are thrilled that each Mixed Match Challenge team will compete to win the grand prize of $100,000 to support organizations that are truly important to them. This unique and exciting content partnership with Facebook allows us to raise awareness and funds for important initiatives and supports our mission of putting smiles on people's faces around the world.”
- Michelle Wilson, WWE Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer.
